Japan 2015 : Matsubaya Ryokan Kyoto Review

In Kyoto , we decided to stay in one of those traditional ryokan with tatami mat and sleep on floor bed.

We choose Matsubaya Inn which is 10 mins walking distance from Kyoto Station . The best part of this Inn is that is not that far from the main station and is still quiet from the city life.

Per night cost 8600 yen with no breakfast and shared bathroom with another room.

 This is the size of the room , around 2.5m x 3m ?
Pretty small even for both of us. Cannot imagine how those huge ah moh can stay here.

 Our bed ....futon (japanese bed)

 Build in toilet.

 However our bathroom is share with another room . Comes with bathtub and shower.

 View from our hotel balcony. Really beautiful and peaceful .

 Wooden floor. According to the receptionist , this hotel is really really old ,i think more than 100 years and the owner refurbish them and turn them into ryokan.

 They do provide yukata but in my opinion , a bit look like those bathrobe .

More details of this ryokan as below . Is kindda one of the cheapest that i able to find within walking distance from Kyoto Station .
Ryokan is really expensive places to stay .
Recommended for first time japan traveler. But next time, i wont be staying here anymore due to the cramp space .
