We celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary AGAIN !! in Equatorial Penang last Wed .

Time passes by so fast. 
Can't believe we have been together for more than 10 years . 
Thank you for being such a wonderful husband and  best friend . I am so so so so lucky to have you as my husband.

This is our yearly place to celebrate our wedding anniversary . I told marcus that if one day we move back to subang , we must fly back to Penang every year just to dine at this restaurant for our anniversary celebration . WITHOUT KIDS !!!

We reach the restaurant around 8pm and there are only 3 tables .Marcus did call up earlier for a reservation for table beside the window with the view but the restaurant give us the table next to the stairs . This is like the 2nd time it happen .
Really lousy management !!

The waiter serve us a basket of warm homemade bread with olive oil.
This is different from the pass few years where we are serve with so many different type of bread with salted butter .
I love love the vinegar . Taste pretty strong.

 We are ask whether we wanted still or sparking water .. i was em .... if i choose sparking water ...prob they serve me some RM15/ bottle of water . So we both ask for still water .
When the waiter serve us this !! ...we were like F&^* !!!
This is gonna cost us a bomb ... and it taste like spritzer water

 Smoke salmon with alcohol . Serve with different sauce and dressing 

Their appetizer dishes are very different from my previous visit. 

 Prawn salad cucumber . This is one of my fav dish - the prawns are very very huge and fresh

 The few things are similar like previous years are the seafood platters .
As you notice, most of the foods are abundance , compare to weekend whereby most people already sapu finish everything .

 Soup serve with toast garlic bread. Taste very bland . I think is leek soup . Yucks ....

 sorbet : i think is peach + orange + strawberry . We were serve sorbet before our main meal.

 pretty empty at 9.30pm. We are one of the last customer.

They charge RM 18 per bottle of mineral water !!!

 He is forcing himself to finish the RM18 of water .

KIRISHIMA Japanese Restaurant @ Cititel

Yesterday was valentine's day ... HAPPY Belated V Day Everyone!!

As everyone know, V day is such a overrated day where everywhere is so freaking expensive and overcrowded .
Marcus ..being so sweet brought me to this restaurant - recommended by some friends of his ...saying that this is the best Japanese food in Penang. Normally i will be the one that suggesting places for dinner . But this time , since is V day , he did some homework :> GOOD JOB Baby!!

Due to V day , he unable to make any booking(they only accept reservation for 5 tables) and we have to arrive early just to get a place .
We reach there by 6.30pm and the place is full . Therefore we are sited at the bar table .

 I didn't hear about this place , KIRISHIMA  before , i mean i didn't know there is a japanese restaurant in Cititel .

KIRISHIMA - is located right next to the lobby . When you walk into the main door of cititel , just walk straight for another 5-8 meters and you will see this restaurant.

 we were serve - complimentary from the restaurant

 the interior is very old .
Sadly due to V day , we were given 2 choices , choose from the vday menu or order the ala-carte menu .
V day menu cost RM198 per person - which is expensive and comes with weird dishes such as sashimi . So ended up ordering ala carte .

 We ordered - t bone steak Ishiyaki RM48( from the weekly menu special)
Taste superb - the sauce mix with wasabi is unique and the meat is very well favour

 Salmon Teriyaki RM24 . Taste pretty bland , nothing special
 disappointing...

 Garlic rice RM12 . Huge portion and taste wise- one of the best garlic rice ever tasted .

 I ordered additional 2 miso soup RM9 per bowl

 For dessert , i ordered Yuzu Ice cream RM8.00
This is the first time i tasted yuzu favor ice-cream .The first time i heard about yuzu is from a blog life of a lil notti monkey where there is a ryokan in japan where yuzu is added to bathwater for relaxation.
And it tasted like orange skin . Slightly sweet and bitter .

Total bill of the night : RM121.80 

Taste wise , i definitely coming back again to try the set dinner .
The price for set dinner is more affordable - more expensive than Azuma or Rakuzen but the choice are more unique .

Btw ....marcus told me at first he was planning to bring me to Farquar mansion . And the reason he cancel his plan is the price . To have your vday dinner that place cost RM1299++ per couple .
OMG!!! I told him , lucky you never bring me there . I rather have you bank in the RM1290 and we use RM9 to makan in super tanker 

And ..... i got a present from Marcus - new earrings - diamond and ribbon ( both my favorite ) - according to marcus - this present is for vday and also 4th year anniversary(next week)
